How would you like to have a TV show that will feature the lives of police officers? How do they cope with their daily lives while performing their duties as a police officer? Well there is a newly created TV series that features the lives of police officers.
Southland is a drama series which is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The show was first shown on NBC. It is created by writer Ann Biderman who is also the show’s executive producer together with Christopher Chulack and John Wells. The show focuses on the lives of the police officers which are currently living and working in Los Angeles. These police officers consists of Det. Nate Moretta portrayed by Kevin Alejandro, Officer Chickie Brown played by Arija Baareikis, Det. Ray Suarez played by Clifton Collins Jr., Officer John Cooper portrayed by Michael Cudlitz, Det. Sammy Bryant played by Shawn Hatosy, Det. Lydia Adams played by Regina King, Det. Daniel “Sal” Salinger played by Michael MrGrady and Officer Ben Sherman played by Ben McKenzie. It also stars Det. Russell Clarke played by Tom Everett Scott.
According to NBC, Southland takes a raw and authentic look at Los Angeles and of course the lives of its LAPD police officers. It centers on the experiences and interactions of LAPD’s patrol officers and detectives. How they affect each other in a day to day basis. In this show you can see the conflict between the patrol officers and detectives.
Unfortunately the shows got cancelled on NBC after just airing its first season. But TNT tried on talking to move the TV show to their network and happily Southland moves to its new home network in the start of its second season.
